Location: Redditch (Hybrid)

Reporting To: Engineering Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Support individual to join our dynamic team at TRT Lighting Ltd, a leading exterior lighting manufacturer. As Technical Support, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive expert assistance in troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and optimizing the performance of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Support

  • Provide prompt and accurate technical assistance to customers via phone, email, and chat.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to our lighting products, including fixtures, controls, and software applications.

  • Guide customers through step-by-step solutions, both for common issues and complex technical challenges.

2. Issue Resolution

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and product development, to escalate and resolve advanced technical issues.

  • Maintain a detailed record of customer interactions, issues, and solutions in our CRM system.

  • Provide feedback to the product development team based on recurring issues and customer feedback to improve product quality.

3. Product Knowledge

  • Develop a deep understanding of our lighting products, their features, functionalities, and technical specifications.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to lighting and controls.

4. Training and Documentation

  • Create and update technical support documentation, including troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product based technical support.

  • Strong familiarity with lighting products, fixtures, controls, and related technologies (desirable but not a necessity).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.

Reporting to Product Manager (Tunnel & Handrail Systems).

Job Overview

TRT Lighting (part of the FW Thorpe Group of companies) are looking to expand their Tunnel Lighting Division with the appointment of a new applications Engineer. The successful candidate will provide our Tunnel division team with Lighting Design and project support. You will be provided with the necessary resources, support, and training opportunities to develop your own personal knowledge, whilst also adding a vital resource to TRT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce lighting designs for both tunnel and Handrail projects utilising Dialux, Relux and Relux Tunnel ensuring compliance to applicable lighting standards.

  • Create and edit project drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Publish professional lighting design reports/project proposals for the sales team and customers.

  • Undertake site surveys’ and be involved in the commissioning and site acceptance tests of larger projects.

  • Provide technical support to the external sales team and customers.

  • Engage in commercial activities such as exhibition stand duty.

  • Any other duties as specified by Line Manager.

  • Willing to undertake surveys at night/weekends when required. Overtime rates apply accordingly.

Attributes & Experience:

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years lighting experience.

  • Familiarity with lighting design packages such as Lighting Reality, Dialux and Relux. Although training will be given.

  • AutoCAD experience preferred but not essential.

  • Excellent computer literacy skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • ILP or LIA lighting design qualifications are desirable however, training will be provided where needed.

  • IPAF, ECS & First aid trained desirable however, training will be provided where needed.

  • Clean driving license.

Area Sales Manager – London & South East England – Road & Exterior Lighting

Having an established background in lighting sales, you will possess the skills to self-manage and develop sales opportunities across the region promoting products and solutions from the TRT portfolio. Job Role

  • Service existing and identify potential new clients in both the road and exterior lighting markets, building relationships and increasing sales turnover.

  • Gain knowledge of customer requirements and competitor solutions, provide feedback to the Sales Director to aid with future product developments and market sector penetration.

  • Establish and implement a specification sales strategy drive for the region and ensure that this is followed through to a successful conclusion.

  • Liaise with various departments within the Company to ensure exemplary customer support, experience and backup.

  • Maintain and update customer contact information ensuring activities and action plans are documented and completed on the TRT quotations and CRM system.

  • Liaise with customers to develop a concise understanding of any program or project requirements, accurately translating information through to the internal operational departments.

  • Offer onsite customer support through site attendance before, during and after installation providing full project support from start to finish.

  • Report on commercial trends, technology developments and personnel movements across the industry.
